Friedrich Wilhelms-Hütte Eisenguss GmbH and Friedrich Wilhelms-Hütte Stahlguss GmbH require a high level of electrical energy and natural gas for the smelting of iron and steel in their state-of-the-art facilities.
Due to a responsibility towards people and the environment as well as a claim for economic efficiency and competitiveness, energy management according to ISO 50001:2011 has been implemented within the scope of the integrated management system alongside the existing quality management and environmental management.
The prime objective of the energy management is the continual improvement of energy efficiency.
This involves increasing the level of energy efficiency, optimising the use of energy and improving energy consumption.
The energy management system was certified at the beginning of 2013 by DNV.
Employees of Friedrich Wilhelms-Hütte and third parties working in conjunction with the company are incorporated into the energy management and are also expected to contribute to the improvement of the energy service.
